Description

This was originally going to be my BFOI Application, but my computer decided to be a bitch and didn't let me post this on time, so I had to participate as an NPC. However, I still wanted to upload this because I really like this team. Details about Verna and Nappe can be found in connection with the Spectator Form ([link]) but I'll include some info about this team here, even though this isn't my actual Application.

Synda the Typhlosion:

Verna's starter (after Nappe who doesn't battle) whom she got from professor Elm when she had decided to leave on a Pokémon journey. He's bold, confident, daredevilish and sometimes even aggressive, and he really enjoys battling. Even as a small and weak Cyndaquil he taunted bigger and stronger Pokémon and fought them with all his might. His balanced stats and strong fire moves that are boosted by his Sunny Day make him a really noteworthy opponent. He's Verna's second Pokémon, and she wasn't very creative with names at that time, so that's why he has such a retarded name (actually it's for the sake of nostalgy, since my first Silver starter over a decade ago was a Cyndaquil named Synda~ I trained him to level 100 and he pwn'd everything! 8D) Synda has a studded leather band with spikes made of the red bits of Heat Rock around his wrist.

Poppy the Banette:

A slightly deranged Banette who is usually modest, calm, quiet, and docile but goes batshit crazy upon seeing cute, pink, fluffy Pokémon. Nappe can thank Arceus for being shiny, otherwise Poppy would've ripped his head off the moment she saw him. Her overwhelming grudge originates from being abandoned by her previous trainer for a Jigglypuff (just like when she was a plushie, if Pokedex is right about the origins of Banettes), and now she's seeking revenge and trying to kill every Pokémon that reminds her of Jigglypuffs. She knows Confuse Ray for some reason, maybe her father was a Duskull or Dusclops (although how is that possible if she was originally a doll? Oh well, we might never know...) Poppy has an Expert Belt around her neck like a scarf and her Special Attack is surprisingly high.

Tessa the Archeos:

A jolly, cheerful, happy, and playful Archeos who's always in a good mood to the point of annoying. Though due to her ability Timid she's also a terrible coward and crybaby as soon as something bad happens. She likes playing with other Pokémon and flying for the fun of it, and she's a bit childish despite her technically being thousands and thousands of years old. She likes battling but doesn't take it very seriously, and usually tries to run off as soon as the going gets rough. Tessa has a Quick Claw in a necklace, and Verna's strategy with her is to finish the battle quickly with the courtesy of her high Attack, before she gets hurt and starts to panic.

Alex the Waruvial:

An unbelievably tomboyish female Waruvial. Actually, Verna wasn't sure if she was male or female when she caught her, so she gave her a unisex name just in case. Alex is impish, mischievous, fiendish, and mean. In fact she's a total bitch. She's very brutal in battles and relies on her intimidating looks and Attack stat to first weaken the enemy's morale and then sweep them with her killer physical moves. She wants to see BLOOD. The Muscle Band that Alex wears around her neck makes her even more dangerous; however, her defensive stats are pretty bad so anyone faster that her has pretty good chances to take her down.

Otto the Floatzel:

A brave, adventurous, curious, and smart Floatzel who always wants to see, try, and learn new things. He is open for everything, and gets along with all kinds of people and Pokémon really well. In battles he can outmatch most of his opponents in the speed department (especially with his Rain Dance and Swift Swim) and he uses that in his advantage while trying to take his enemy by surprise. Otherwise he's playful, relaxed, and likes being cuddled and floating around in warm water (so he really would enjoy himself on Ohana Islands). Otto has a necklace with a piece of a Damp Rock in it. He's often sent in a Double Battle with Poppy who then, after his Rain Dance, fucks shit up with her Thunder attack.

Niles the Breloom:

A serious, docile, shy, and reserved Breloom who likes his peace and quiet. He doesn't really enjoy battling that much but will do it for the sake of responsibility and because he wants to be strong so that he'll be able to protect his trainer and teammates, who are important to him even though he rarely shows it. In battle he usually likes to set up a Substitute or make the opponent sleep wit Spore before finishing the battle with a single or a few strong hits. Niles has the Poison Heal ability and a Toxic Orb in a necklace, so that he's protected against status conditions and recovers gradually all the time.
